RHODE ISLAND — ACI’s maximum security prison was locked down on Thursday after officials received a death threat against a corrections officer.
According to Turn to 10, an inmate with ties to a notorious gang threatened to attack and kill a corrections officer and also vowed to retaliate against other COs in the community.
Officials considered the threat credible and locked down the prison in order to search for weapons.
The inmate who made the threat was moved to solitary confinement. The lockdown lasted a few hours, but ACI did not release any information on any weapons found.
