PARIS, Tenn. — A judge in Tennessee has rejected a medical furlough request from an inmate awaiting trial on a charge of attempted murder.
Henry County Circuit Judge Donald Parrish instead ordered 36-year-old Guy Len Biggs of Buchanan sent earlier this week to a state prison to receive medical care because of a serious condition.
The Paris Post-Intelligencer reported that a grand jury indicted Biggs earlier this month. Investigators say the charges stem from an incident in April in the Henry County Sheriff’s Department told a man had broken into Biggs’ home and shot him.
Investigators say Biggs and his wife, 24-year-old Joyce Biggs, had lured the man to their home with the intent to kill him.
Both Biggs have pleaded not guilty and are being held on bonds of $500,000 each.
