JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Missouri Department of Corrections District Administrator Debra Collins was en route to a meeting in Poplar Bluff when she died in a car accident last Friday.
Collins, who served on the Missouri Board of Probation and Parole for 25 years, ran her vehicle off the road, where she drove into a ditch causing her to suffer fatal injuries, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page.
Collins was born June 29, 1955 in Cabool, Missouri. A graduate of Houston High School Class of 1973, she received her BS in Criminal Justice from Southeast Missouri University in 1993.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Michael Wayne Collins, according to her obituary at HoustonHerald.com.
