NEWARK — An off-duty corrections officer interrupted a robbery Saturday night.
NJ.com reports that the officer, who has not been identified for security reasons, was inside a clothing store when two robbers entered. The officer identified himself to the robbers, and they exchanged gunfire.
A 57-year-old employee of the business was struck in the abdomen, but is currently in stable condition.
Though the robbers are still at large, authorities believe one or both were injured.
