Okla. DOC releases names of inmates killed in riot

CUSHING — The Oklahoma Department of Corrections released the names of four inmates who died in connection with a Saturday incident at the Cimarron Correctional Institute in Cushing.

Dead are Anthony Fulwilder, Michael Mayden, Kyle Tiffee and Christopher Tignor.

Three other inmates — Jared Cruce, Cordell Johnson and Jesse Hood — were injured in the incident and remain hospitalized, corrections officials said. All three were in stable condition at 9:14 a.m. Monday, according to a news release.

Another inmate was treated at a hospital and taken back to the prison.

Corrections officials reported a fight broke out at 4:36 p.m. The incident lasted less than two minutes, and corrections officers secured the prison’s housing area in 38 minutes, officials said.

Cimarron Correctional Institute is a 1,720-bed prison owned and operated by Corrections Corporation of America, a private corporation. The prison houses medium- and maximum-security male inmates.
