OKLAHOMA CITY — A New Year’s Day prank inside the Oklahoma County Jail will bring a hefty repair bill for taxpayers.
KOCO reports that inmates deliberately planned to ‘sock bomb’ the sewer line, causing toilet and vent overflow throughout the building.
“It’s really annoying,” said Robin Rose, a jail employee. “We’re constantly replacing ceiling tiles. It’s ridiculously annoying.”
The jail’s sewer system is commercial grade and thus unable to counter these kinds of attacks.
This latest sock bomb caused $5,000 worth of damage, including ruined ceiling tiles, furniture and even a computer.
