CHARLOTTE, Tenn. — A Dickson County corrections officer and his family have found themselves homeless after a fire gutted their house.
WSMV reports that Michael Neumeyer and his family recently relocated to Charlotte, Tenn., from Louisiana a year ago, and thus have no family nearby and nowhere to live.
Neumeyer said that fire alarms didn’t go off until he, his wife and their three children evacuated the home.
For the moment, the family is staying at a hotel. Neumeyer’s fellow employees at the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office are raising funds to help them.
A GoFundMe account has been created to raise the money. For information on how to help, click here.
