WITCHITA FALLS, Texas — Members of a Texas community worked together to create a blood drive in order to support a Wichita County Sheriff’s Officer battling a second bout of bone cancer.
Detention Officer Larry Williams has been with the sheriff’s department for a little over ten years, according to the Texomas. His colleagues say that treatment for his condition has not stopped him from working hard and being a department leader.
Dozens gave blood to the Texas Blood Institute, which set up a ‘bloodmobile’ on the county courthouse lawn.
The bus is open to the public between Tuesday and Saturday.
