GREGG COUNTY, Texas — An inmate received an additional charge of retaliation after threatening a corrections officer when his TV privileges were revoked.
The News-Journal reports that Marcus Wayne Williams, 40, is currently serving time at the Gregg County Jail for charges of criminal trespass, two counts of burglary of a habitation, assault causing bodily injury and bail jumping/failure to appear.
He had his TV privileges after COs found contraband in his cell. Williams became angry with the CO on duty Sunday when the officer refused to allow him to turn on the TV in his cell.
Williams reportedly told the officer “When I see you on the outside, I’m gonna punch you in your … face.”
The officer said he feared for his life and was afraid of being assaulted upon Williams’ release. Williams remains in jail on $10,000-worth of bonds.
