The agency asks the public to be on the lookout for 35-year-old Danny Spillers

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Oregon Department of Corrections says an inmate who escaped from a Portland prison did so by breaking a kitchen door and window.

The agency asks the public to be on the lookout for 35-year-old Danny Spillers, who has been missing since Sunday morning.

Spillers has red hair, hazel eyes and a tattoo on his left arm that says “Samantha.” He was wearing blue prison clothing with the word “inmate” stenciled in orange on both the pants and shirt.

Spillers went to prison two months ago on convictions of burglary and unauthorized use of a vehicle out of Multnomah County.

He was due to leave prison no earlier than April 2017.
