ATTICA, N.Y. — An Attica Correctional Facility inmate is facing felony criminal charges after allegedly stabbing a correction officer multiple times with a pen Wednesday evening.
Michael Head, 34, assaulted the officer as he prepared to enter and search Head’s cell.
Head was quickly subdued and both he and the officer were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
The State Department of Corrections says Head will be transferred to another maximum security facility after his hospital evaluation.
