ST. PETER, Minn. — A patient at the Minnesota Sex Offender Treatment Program in St. Peter allegedly assaulted a security guard and threatened to kill staff.
Joshua Lawrence Johnson, 36, was charged Tuesday in Nicollet County District Court with felony terroristic threats and misdemeanor assaults.
On June 28, Johnson was upset about losing some of his privileges and knocked a security guard to the ground and wrestled with the guard, according to the criminal complaint.
After he was subdued, Johnson allegedly threatened to stab the guard “in the throat with a pen when he least expected.” He later reportedly admitted to an investigator that he told staff, “I’m done assaulting. It’s time to start killing.”
