NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A Tennessee corrections officer was struck and pinned by a prison bus Wednesday morning outside a Nashville hospital.
According to the Tennessean, the corrections officer was pinned between the bus and hospital railing while on a routine medical run.
Nashville Fire Department spokesman Brian Haas said the officer was checking the door of the bus when he was struck.
The officer was then taken to a medical facility to be treated for minor ankle injuries.
Tennessee Department of Corrections spokeswoman Neysa Taylor said that there were no inmates aboard the bus during the time of the incident.
