Tupac Shakur did it in 1995, and now Lil Wayne has managed the same dubious achievement: scoring a No. 1 album while in prison.
Wayne’s “I Am Not a Human Being” tops the chart with one-week sales of 125,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The rapper is serving a yearlong sentence at Rikers Island on a gun charge.
“Human Being” hit No. 2 on the album chart after its online release last month. The launch of its CD pushed the album to No. 1.
