MILWAUKEE, Wis. – A loaded handgun was smuggled into the Milwaukee County Jail inside a load of dirty laundry that was sent to the Milwaukee County House of Correction to be cleaned.
The Journal Sentinel reports that the House of Correction provides laundry cleaning services for a number of county entities, including the jail.
It’s believed that an inmate stashed the gun in the laundry last week.
A round was discovered in the chamber of the gun, and it had a full magazine. It’s been reported as a stolen weapon.
