TRENTON, N.J. -- An officer has been indicted on charges of beating an inmate at New Jersey State Prison.
He and five others also are accused of failing to submit reports that reflected the use of force in the Oct. 26 incident, which officials say was captured on video.
The three sergeants and three correction officers have been suspended without pay.
The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office says corrections officer Kevin McEady kicked the inmate. The 48-year-old Camden resident has been an officer since 1994.
