TACOMA — The death threats were spread out across 24 voicemails.

Emil Haag’s community corrections officer returned from vacation in January and found her voicemail full of threats.

Pierce County prosecutors on Tuesday charged the 54-year-old with intimidating a public servant and felony harassment.

Haag is currently serving time in Washington Corrections Center in Shelton and is set to be released April 12. He is then expected to be transferred to Pierce County Jail and will be arraigned on local charges.

The “disturbing and frightening” calls may have been prompted in part because Haag’s corrections officer was working on revoking his probation, according to court documents.

In addition to threatening to kill her and other community corrections officers, Haag allegedly claimed he could make a bomb and shoot innocent people.

“… go ahead and be stupid, provoke me some more and see if I don’t kill a (expletive) of innocent civilians,” Haag said in one message.

Haag has 10 prior felony convictions, some for felony harassment, and 27 misdemeanor convictions. He was on probation for felony harassment when his case was assigned to his community corrections officer in August 2014.

She was revoking his probation because he failed to appear in late January.
