NORRISTOWN, Pa. — A Pennsylvania heroin addict charged with robbing and killing a man he met through a Craigslist ad seeking sex has been sentenced to 40 to 80 years in prison.
The (Doylestown) Intelligencer reports that 28-year-old Chad Marshal Wilcox, of Williamsport, pleaded guilty Monday in Montgomery County to third-degree murder, robbery and burglary.
In exchange, prosecutors dropped first- and second-degree murder charges that carry a mandatory life sentence.
Wilcox declined to comment, saying it would be better if he said nothing “out of respect for the family.”
Prosecutors say he killed 36-year-old Manual Hakimian, of Norristown, in September and stole his electronic devices, then used his bank and credit cards before his arrest in North Carolina. They say he bartered the electronics for heroin within hours of the killing.
