NEW ZEALAND – Footage from prisons in New Zealand is giving the public a first-hand view of what corrections officers and other prison staff deal with on a daily basis.
According to TVNZ, the footage comes from a trial use of body cameras by the DOC, as part of an effort to keep staff safe.
It shows staff breaking up prison fights, dealing with prisoners who refuse to follow orders and capturing evidence in the events of stabbings or contraband finds inside cells.
The footage was filmed at Auckland and Rimutaka Prisons.
