TRENTON, NJ — The NJDOC commissioner recognized 30 staff members who went above and beyond the call of duty in a ceremony at the Harris Auditorium.
Awards presented included the Blue Heart, awarded to an officer who becomes permanently disabled or seriously injured in the line of duty; the Medal of Valor, given to an employee for exemplary bravery; the Meritorious Service Award, for acts of heroism and distinguished accomplishment; the Distinguished Service Award, for distinguished service to either the department or the community; and the Commissioner’s Commendation, presented for highly intelligent and valuable acts of service.
“By their actions, both on the job and off, our honorees demonstrated an unyielding commitment to keep the citizens of the Garden State safe,” stated Commissioner Gary M. Lanigan.
“Dedication, honor and integrity. These are the core values that our honorees possess, and it is an honor to recognize them,” Lanigan continued.
