Corrections officer found guilty of murdering wife

ELYRIA, Ohio — A verdict was reached in the trial of a former Lorain County corrections officer who called the sheriff’s office to report he had beheaded his wife.

William Dembie, now 45, was found guilty of murder, felonious assault and domestic violence.

He was found not guilty of aggravated murder.

In August 2011, officers who responded to the call were directed by Dembie to his Grafton Township back yard where his wife’s body was discovered with multiple stab wounds.
