GUAM — In celebration of Corrections Week in Guam, officers took shackles and other paraphernalia from prison to show the public what life is like behind bars.
Beginning with a proclamation signing ceremony, Corrections Week also included the swearing in of new officers, according to Pacific News Center. Besides the exhibit, volunteers were used to demonstrate how wrist and leg shackles work.
Other items included in the exhibit were uniforms worn by inmates and detainees, contraband that had been confiscated over the years and artwork created by the inmates.
The Department of Corrections will also offer public tours of the prison facility starting today.
