OCALA, Fla. — Two men are behind bars after they targeted the wrong car: that of a Marion County Jail captain.
WESH News reports that Capt. Clinton Bowen heard the noise of the thieves attempting to break into his vehicle, parked outside of the gated community he lived in.
“I heard a click or a noise from my driveway,” Bowen said. “I immediately drew my weapon.”
He gave chase when the thieves tried to run, and eventually caught both. One was a juvenile and remains unidentified; the other was Russell Locke, 22.
They admitted to nine other burglaries in the area. They are both facing 13 felony charges, including armed burglary.
They are both currently at the Marion County Jail.
