RIDGELAND — An inmate who raped and held a prison employee hostage for 14 hours will spend the rest of his life in prison, a Jasper County jury decided today.
Lloyd Isaac, 36, of Cheraw, was convicted today of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping for attacking an administrative assistant in the education building at Ridgeland Correctional Institution in 2006. The conviction followed a day and a half of testimony.
Isaac was in prison for a rape conviction when he barricaded himself and the prison employee in a storage cabinet during the standoff Nov. 3, 2006.
