FOX LAKE, Wis. — An inmate with a claw hammer has injured two officers at Fox Lake Correctional Institution.
Department of Corrections spokesman John Dipko says the inmate attacked one corrections officer in the prison’s furniture shop about 8:15 a.m. Monday. A second officer came to the rescue and also was hurt.
Dipko says both officers needed medical attention.
A third employee was finally subdued the inmate, who was moved to another prison and put in segregation.
Dipko says an investigation is underway and Fox Lake Correctional Institution remains under lock down.
He says inmate had worked in the furniture shop for two years.
