CHILICOTHE, Ohio — A corrections officer died following a medical emergency while working a shift.
Sergeant William “BC” Cokonougher, 38, died following a sudden medical emerengcy during his shift at Ross Correctional Institution on April 13, the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction said. He had worked at the facility since 2013.
“He was a loving and dedicated father, husband, and staff member at Ross Correctional Institution since 2013. He will be missed by all who knew him,” officials said in a statement.
Cokonougher leaves behind his wife, son and daughter.
Cokonougher enjoyed music, concerts, golf and spending time with his wife and children, his obituary states.
